Q. Does this unit come with all the parts needed to fit to my existing Elkay model

A. Installation can be a piece of cake and this model easily adapts to most fountain setups. 

 

Q. Can we use this as a counter mount and just plumb it into the water and electrical

A. Unfortunately, that will not work. This is a retrofit bottle filler designed to mount on an existing cooler. The only way that you can do what you are trying to do is with a EZWSSM (not filtered) or LZWSSM (filtered) fountain. Note that neither of these is cooled. They don’t have room for a compressor. 

 

Q. Will this work on an older Elkay without an electric solenoid

A. We would say no as the parts that come with this add-on probably wouldn’t match, and you would have to find some way to supply the correct power required. 

 

Q. Is this compatible with the Elkay ezfs8? Also does it cool the water at all?

A. Yes, it is. B. No, it uses the refrigerated output from the existing fountain to serve chilled water. 

 

Q. I have a water fountain in my school and wondered if this could be mounted on to that. I do not know the brand. Cost?

A. It is CRITICAL to know the exact model of the fountain at your school before purchasing this. This retro-fit bottle filling station ONLY fits on a small number of EZ and LZ series of Elkay water coolers. If you have a cooler older than about 8 years, it is not generally worth trying to retrofit, you should just get a whole new water cooler/bottle filling station combination unit.

 

Q. Does this dispense water using sensor? Or do you have to push on the existing fountains button to dispense into bottle?

A. Yes, it has a sensor 

 

Q. Does this unit plug into an outlet or does it have to be hard wired? Does it need a drain?

A. Yes you need a 120v plug in and water no drain

 

Q. How easy to install?

A. Requires a plumber or someone who is very handy. Instructions are dependent on which model of drinking fountain you are adding it to, but the instructions don’t do a good job of identifying which procedures are for which model. 

 

Q. Can this be mounted above any existing refrigerated fountain or does it have to be an existing Elkay fountain?

A. We have seen this mounted to other drinking fountains but required extra work drilling out holes for supply and drain line. silicone had to be used to create a seal. Not very attractive. We are currently looking to replace one of our existing drinking fountains to add another Fill Station. $4 000 +. The Elkay Brand is the best so far. I know of two other brands being used that quit working or had major issue’s after a year.
